How Strong is your Get Up Muscle?
Olympian and cancer survivor Scott Hamilton resonated with me recently. He spoke to the New York Times about being replaced as a figure skating commentator for the 2018 Olympics.
“I calculated once how many times I fell during my skating career — 41,600 times,” he said. “But here’s the funny thing: I got up 41,600 times. That’s the muscle you have to build in your psyche — the one that reminds you to just get up.”
Hamilton focused on the big picture: So much in life is adapting to change, and continuing on through adversity. He knew there were things to worry about, and things not to worry about.
These are skills that serve entrepreneurs and business owners well. Which muscle will you build this year?
